January Meeting

President Harold Cooper opened the meeting with a presentation about the soon-to-be-released 1940 Federal Census.   [LEFT]

February Meeting

Ann Pellow Rus, of Pellow Monuments in Enid, Oklahoma, spoke to the members of the Garfield County Genealogists at their February meeting.  She related interesting stories abour her family's long-time business, and about the art and history of making tombstones.   [LEFT]

Lillian Larwig spoke about Germans from Russia at the meeting of the Garfield County Genealogists

Anna Thompson, President of the Central Oklahoma chapter of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR), spoke on the subject of, "Who are the Germans from Russia, anyway?" at the March meeting of the Garfield County Genealogists.

Lillian Larwig, Vice-President of the Central Oklahoma chapter of the AHSGR, spoke about her German-Russian ancestors, while wearing a dress of the style that her grandmother wore.

April Meeting

The Garfield County Genealogists at their April meeting

Billie Stone Fogarty spoke to members of the Garfield County Genealogical Society at their April meeting, held in Enid, Oklahoma.

  The lecture was entitled, "War of 1812:  The Forgotten War" and gave an overview of the history of the conflict before exploring the many resources available to genealogists for researching their ancestors.
